Of the 7 project options available for the Alastair Swayn Foundation Competition I chose outdoor seating and lighting as they were the areas needing the most attention at the llewellyn hall of the ANU School of Music. The lighting solution incorporated cymatic shapes to give a nod to the music being created and experienced at this location. The seating solution uses large concrete structures to relate to the brutalist architecture of the building while its soft curves are used in contrast to make the area more approachable.
